  You won't be able to unfortuatly. All standard LCDs produce a 60Hz display. For 3D you need a monitor or display thats capable of displaying 120Hz (because it creates 2 images).

  FYI reading glasses are usually required due to presbyopia (the deterioration of the ability to focus on close objects) which is synonymous with old age, at some point virtually the entire population will become presbyopic.

  Yes, it magnifies the print because their eyes are unable to accommodate (or focus) at a close distance. This happens to everyone as they age, generally in mid 40's and beyond. There is no need for these glasses for anything beyond a few feet, or that is not small like 'print'.

  This is what they are for (to read) and why people wear them.

  No there are not reading glasses for people who can read without them. Though you can wear them and force your eyes to accommodate and still read with the reading glasses on.. with normal vision. It isn't healthy, and is likely to cause eye strain and headache.

  What you need are cosmetic glasses. Simple clear, non prescriptive, lenses in frames of your choice. People do wear glasses for style .. although it isn't nearly as common as for function. =)

  It won't make him turn blind, but when he looks through them he will get REALLY blurred vision, like everything is magnified and your about to pass out, lol.

  If he really REALLY wants them (which he sounds like he does!) then either pop the lenses out or ask the shop if they've got any for people with perfect vision.

People who don't need glasses cansee normally or are not either near-sighted or far sighted enough to need corrective lenses. Of course, some people have better than 20/20 vision...others not quite 20/20, but close to it. Glasses correct vision so a person can see as well as people without them. Also, some people need glasses but are unaware that they aren't seeing as clearly as they could, which is why it's important to have your eyes examined for any changes in vision.

  When people with perfect vision look through your glasses, they are not going to see exactly what you see without your glasses.

  If you are nearsighted, you will have glasses with concave lenses. If a person with normal vision puts them on, the effect will be similar to as if they were farsighted, their eyes will try to accommodate to bring the image into focus (just as when looking at a close object). If the lenses are not very strong or if the person is fairly young and has a wide range of accommodation, they might actually be able to see through the glasses but things will look smaller, and further away and they might get headaches with continued wearing. Also they might have trouble seeing near objects as they might not have enough range of accomodation to compensate completely.

  If you are farsighted, your glasses will have convex lenses. If a person with normal vision tries to wear these, the effect will be as if they are nearsighted. In this case, the accommodation does not help, as the accommodation only acts to make the lens in the eye more convex, not less so, and the system already has too much convexity. Depending on the strength of the glasses, the person may find they have better near vision or at least can focus closer to an object than before. This is the same principle as reading glasses or using a magnifying glass so you can get real close to an object and still be able to focus on it.

  It can be close but not 100%. It is possible however to wear the same RX for 10 years or so without a change, but generally anyone should get checked every couple of years. Anyway, as a person gets older the lens within your eyes looses the ability to focus on whatever you are looking at. As a child these lenses are pliable and can focus easily but as one gets older they loose this property. This is why someone 30+ years old may need bifocals or trifocals. These compensate for your eyes ability to focus.

  Once you are nearsighted, you are most likely going to stay nearsighted.
  Surgery can be expensive, your prescription could change after-wards, having dry eye issues is a common side effect, and there is always the possibility of having more serious side effects.

  If not, why are you worried about it?

  What most people don't realize is that the eye doctor tries to correct your vision to the best it can be while you are using BOTH EYES together. Because let's face it, you aren't walking around using only one eye!

  And it is not always the same thing to have balanced vision between the eyes, as it is to have the best vision on each eye separately.

  For example: Maybe your right eye is only capable of seeing 20/25, but your left eye is able to see 20/20. While the doctor could correct each eye to its full potential, it makes much more sense to correct each eye so they see equally when working together. So the doctor gives you a prescription where both eyes see 20/25, but you now notice that your left eye "appears" to be blurry by your standards, because it is capable of seeing 20/20 but the doctor has corrected it to 20/25. It is not that the doctor is making you see blurry on purpose, but they are making your eyes see equally and balanced when they are working together.

  Does that make sense?

  So unless you are having severe blur in your left eye for some other reason, I would not worry about the fact that your right eye can see a little better than your left eye.

  I wouldn't recommend it, just because it would probably hurt your vision somewhat. If you go to an optometrist, they will probably be able to exchange the lenses. They have optical clinics at Walmart, Costco, etc. I would guess less than for just clear glass lenses, since cheap prescriptions cost only around and non-prescription glasses shouldn't be expensive.   OCD is essentially a slightly more intense form of a habbit and it also isn't rational. To break any habit you need to break the cycle - and keep breaking it, as much as you can, until you get over it. It may take time and even when you think you're well out of it, you may still experience the occasional relapses. But stick with it and you'll cure yourself.

  The only way anyone overcomes a fear is by being exposed to it. So, make yourself watch TV with your non perfect glasses. Stick with it and keep doing it until you truly realise how irrational your phobia and OCD is. Whenever you experience OCD take note that you're experiencing it and then try to relax yourself. OCD makes you anxious and anxiety increases the intensity of the OCD making it more difficult to deal with. So, relax... and remind yourself that what you're doing it irrational and that you know you have to break the cycle.

  Let go of it and/or don't give in to it. It's the only way to cure yourself. OCD is a form of escape from dealing with your fears. You've got used to giving in to it for the short term relief it provides. But you're just prolonging facing your fear.

  You know rationally that watching TV with your non perfect glasses cannot possibly make any difference. I know it's difficult when you're in the situation but really try to step back and look at it. What might someone else, who isn't suffering from OCD do? How would they behave? You've made up an irrationality in your mind and kept obsessively reinforcing it. So you need to break the cycle and keep breaking it to cure yourself. It's not just going to go away. You need to be brave and make yourself do it.

There have been several mornings when I have woken up and been able to see everything crystal clear despite the fact that I am remarkably blind without my glasses. This will usually last for several moments before I realize I don't have my glasses on and the world goes blurry and out of focus again.

My question is two fold:
1. Am I the only one this has happened to?
2. Is there a medical reason why this happens?

  No, this happens all of the time to most people. It's kinda like, you don't realize that you can't see right away because you're not used to wearing your glasses at that point in the morning. Once you realize your glasses aren't on, you realize you can't see. If there's any medical reason, it would be more neurological than optical.

  Tell them they will get headaches....but don't encourage the false idea that so many people have about damaging the eyes.

  When it gets annoying enough for their eyes, they will stop...but there will be no damage to the vision no matter how long they want to do it.

  Yes, you would be able to try out for MARSOC with glasses. However, once in fleet you can request corrective eye surgery which takes a few months after requesting.

  First let me say this, MARSOC is the newly formed special forces for the Marines. They are connected with SOCOM which recon is not. It is considered to harder than recon as well. In order to even be accepted you must have much, much more than a simple perfect on the PFT.

  MARSOC is open to all MOSs but in order to do combat you must be infantry. Only male NCOs are able to join combat MARSOC. So you will have to wait at least until your second enlistment. You must have a PFT of at least 225 (but is recommended and preferred to have a 300) You must have a modified swimming qualification. You must shoot an expert qualification on the rifle range. Given an aptitude and psychological evaluation. Also, any non-judicial punishments are an automatic disqualifier.

  During assessment and evaluation, individuals will do a complete back ground check. This even includes going to your home town and meeting with teachers from high school, neighbors, and previous employers to deduce you are eligible.

  Once passing assessment and evaluation you will be in ITC for 3 phases.

  # Phase One: 65 days of training in combat medicine, communication, fire support, special reconnaissance, planning, weapons and tactics and survival, escape resistance and evasion.

  # Phase Two: 44 days of further training and application in special reconnaissance, communication, weapons and tactics, plus two weeks of training in direct action.

  # Phase Three: 50 days of language and culture training, including foreign internal defense, information operations, advanced special operations, unconventional warfare and a 14-day training exercise.

  You must be highly efficient and qualified to even be looked at. Most waivers will also be considered disqualifying. I suggest you put off any sort of goal for MARSOC for a long time. Worry about getting passed boot, SOI, and your first enlistment term. Same goes for sniper and recon. Most Marines do not achieve this level in their first enlistment or ever.

  Any optical shop will sell you glasses with no prescription. You can't just buy most frames...you will have to get plano lens put in them.   I have seen it at a wedding (once) and I dont recommend it. Its not common for weddings, unless your reception is an actual picnic. It will look tacky to mix real with plastic. The problem with plastic cutlery is that it tends to send your food flying, or else impossible to pick up anything with. Not to mention how dreadful if someones fork broke!

  Its a sad state that we find ourselves in when plastic is cheaper than the real thing (and Im not blaming you). I encourage to do your best to provide as much real tableware as possible. It looks nicer, and its nicer to the environment too.

Anyway, we were trying to decide how to present them on the table. Our tables are pretty elegant, dark purple table linens with tower vases full of purple roses, orange tiger lillies, and bursts of other flowers along with some vines hanging as well, and candles all around the base in different shades of purple and different sizes.

Would putting one flower in each of them look good as a way to present them? And each stem would have a tag saying thank you, our wedding date, etc. Or should It have candy in each one of some type? I really like the one flower in each one, which would be a silk flower to also be kept as a keepsake although I see about half of them being left on the table.

Next get etching cream and a brush and dab it on, let it sit according to directions and then rinse off. Make sure you wear gloves though.
